certification preferred not mandatory; Scheduling experience; Organizational skills; Computer skills and excellent knowledge of the Records Management System; An understanding of agency policy and procedure; At least 6 years law enforcement related experience to include investigation or intel experience.
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Collect, collate and analyze a variety of economic, geographic and social information in support of crime analysis activities; calls for service, census, demographic and other related data; display informational analysis to supervisors; Perform a variety of statistical analysis; provide information to assist in identifying crime problems; develop and test crime prediction and resource allocation statistical models; assist in advising sworn staff of areas of high crime probability; assist in developing and preparing charts, graphs, maps, reports and related materials in order to track and present findings related to criminal activity; Assist in administering a variety of police tracking, records management and intelligence databases and systems; perform regular system maintenance to ensure effective system operations; develop and maintain data tables; Create confidential law enforcement bulletins regarding crime trends, wanted persons and officer safety; Make calls for service by types of criminal and non-criminal activity, time of day, and day of week to include response times; make recommendations to realign, coordinating beats as warranted; Assist in generating and preparing local, state and federally mandated Uniform Crime, Arrest Reports and LIBRS; assist in developing year-end statistical reports for supervisors and Executive Staff; Assist in monitoring active parole population; gather intelligence data on known parolees; help identify parolees that are in the area illegally; identify pre-parolees and ensure appropriate placement; maintain an effective working relationship with local parole agency; Assist in providing on-going traffic analysis; run specialized reports that include traffic accident, traffic citations, traffic warnings and parking enforcement in a variety of formats; Assist in maintaining a variety of maps within the agency including police beats and grids; ensure sufficient copies are available for staff; Assist in developing and maintaining Internet and Intranet data resources for the community; Provide direction, coordinate, and review the work plan for records technician staff when appropriate; assist in assigning work activities, projects and programs; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; Respond to calls and questions from outside agencies and the general public related to crime analysis; Maintain awareness of developments in the field of crime statistical analysis; incorporate new developments as appropriate; Perform other related duties as required.
Knowledge of:
Basic operations, services and activities of a crime analysis program; Principles and practices of program development and implementation; Methods and techniques of statistical research and analysis; Law enforcement and police records processing; Computer operations, statistical and graphics software; Recent developments, current literature and information related to crime analysis; Basic principles of supervision and training; Principles, practices, methodologies and techniques of crime analysis, crime prevention and law enforcement; Modern office equipment, including computers; Pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and safety regulations.
Ability to:
Perform statistical research and analysis; Audit and validate crime data; Apply principles of logic and scientific methods to define problems involving concrete and abstract variables; Interpret and explain policies and procedures; Operate office equipment including computers and supporting crime analysis programs and databases; Prepare clear and concise reports; Create and test statistical models used to predict criminal activity; Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Applicants will appear before an Oral Review Board, which will be scheduled following the application deadline date.
The Oral Review Board will consider, but will not be limited to the following information:
years of service, college education, military service, training certifications, special skills and dependability.
This position will have a salary of least $37,800.
00 and is eligible for state supplemental pay.
This position is not entitled to a take-home unit.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
